Ingredients
Directions
MilkFlourEggSaltButterPowdered sugar
Preheat the oven to 425 F.
Heat the butter in a small ovenproof frying pan.
Mix egg, milk, flour, and a dash of salt in a bowl, leaving the batter lumpy. Pour into the hot butter, put the frying pan in the oven, and bake for 18-20 minutes, until puffy and golden-to-medium brown.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve.
This is usually called a German or "Dutch" (maybe a mistranslation of "Deutsch"?) pancake; in my family it was just called "Big Pancake" and we loved it. Now my daughter does too.
Serving Size: Makes one large (approx. 7") pancake
Number of Servings: 1
