1 pound great northern or navy beans, dry1 14.5 oz package mirepoix or 1 onion chopped 2 stalks celery chopped and 2 carrots diced1 large ham bone meaty or 2 ham hocks16 oz water or more4 cloves garlicbay leafcrock-pot
soak package of beans overnight in cold water, rinse and place in crock-pot, add 1 package of mirepoix garlic and bay leaf. Add ham bone I save mine from holidays with a good portion of meat on them 1 pound or so. add water till crock pot is full approx 8-16 cups, I have a larger crock-pot. I like to cook mine on low for 8 hours or until the beans are tender, as it cooks I remove the bone as the meat falls off,
