Midnight Bliss Pudding Recipe

½ cup sugar2 tbsp cornstarch¼ tsp salt1 cup skim milk1 cup whole milk or light cream2 oz unsweetened chocolate, chopped.1 beaten egg1 ½ tsp vanilla
In a heavy medium saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch, and salt.
Stir in milk and unsweetened chocolate.
Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened and bubbly; continue cooking and stirring frequently another two minutes. Remove from heat.
Very gradually, stir about 1 cup of the hot mixture into beaten egg.
Return all to mixture in pan.
Cook and stir an additional two minutes. Remove from heat.
Stir in vanilla.
Pour into a bowl and cover the surface with plastic.
Chill without stirring.
