Ingredients
*Tomatoes, red, ripe, canned, with green chilies, 2 cup or medium can *Tomato products, Hunts Diced Tomatoes w/ Basil, Garlic, and Oregano, 8 serving or large canOnions, raw, 1 cup, chopped Garlic, 3 tsp dicedChili powder, 4 tbsp or to tasteSalt, 1 tbsp Water, tap, 6 cup (8 fl oz) *Edamame, shelled, fresh, or frozen1 cup *Jennie-O Extra Lean Ground Turkey, 16 oz Whole Wheat Pasta such as rigatoni, penne, etc.
Directions
Brown turkey breast , onions and garlic in Pam or some type of low-cal cooking spray until the meat is no longer pink. Cook with a low heat.
In another sauce pan add all the other ingredients except the pasta and put on to simmer.
Empty the meat and onions and garlic into the other sauce pan and let simmer for about 45 minutes. Taste after the turkey is fully cooked (about 15 minutes) and adjust the salt and more chili powder if desired. A pinch of cinnamon in this is excellent also.
In another sauce pan put water on to boil and put half of a 16 oz. package of pasta in and cook for about 10 minutes. This really does not require any salt. The sauce will have enough flavor for the pasta to compensate for no salt.
Pour two cups of soup into bowls and add about 2 ounces of cooked pasta to the soup. This serves 6 pretty well.

Look at the sodium!!! Wow! How could anyone add 1 TBSP of salt to all those canned tomatoes? And could you imagine if you added salt to the pasta water also?? This recipe sounds good but I'd have to rework it on the recipe calculator without the 18,000 mg of sodium! - 2/20/11
