Ingredients
6 T. Butter1/2 C. All-purpose flour1/2 C. Whole-wheat flour1/3 C. Unsweetened Cocoa1 1/4 t. Baking Powder1 t. Coarse Salt1/4 t. Baking Soda1 C. Brown Sugar1 1/4 C. Applesauce, unsweetened1 large egg8 oz. semisweet chocolate
Directions
Preheat oven to 350. butter 8-in pan. & line with parchment or foil. whisk together flours, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt. stir together sugar, applesauce, and egg. Melt butter & 6 oz. chocolate. Stir chocolate mixture into sugar mixture. Fold in flour mixture. pour into pan and sprinkle with remaining 2 oz chocolate. Bake approx. 40 min. Let cool, lift out of pan and cut into 16 pieces.
