BIEROCKSI use Rhodes frozen white dinner rolls. Or you can use any type of frozen bread dough. Or if you're really-really good, you can make my mom's bread dough recipe, it is much better and really worth the effort.2 c lukewarm milk1/4 c oil2 eggs (beaten)2 pk yeast1/2 c sugar1 ts salt2 c plus of flourMix together milk and oil. Then add remaining ingredients. Knead and let rise for 1 hour. While bread is rising cook filling:2 lbs. extra lean ground beef1 Tbs onion powder or 1 onion chopped 1 large jar of sauerkrautSalt and pepperShredded Sharp Chedder Cheese (2-3 cups)Cook beef with onion powder, salt and pepper. Add sauerkraut (do not drain). Continue to cook until all the liquid has evaporated. Cool hamburger/sauerkraut mixture. Add chedder cheese. Roll out hunks of dough (about the size of a golf ball). Add a scoop (1/4 cup) of filling, fold over and seal. If you use the frozen Texas Dinner Rolls, one roll per Bierock. Flatten, fill and pinch to seal.
Place on cookie sheet, seam side down. Bake 350 degrees for 20-30 min. or until golden.
