Apple Cinnamon Scones, low fat, low sugar

Ingredients
Directions
2 Cups self raising flour ( or all purpose plus 2 tsp baking powder)1tsp cream of tartar1/2 tsp Bicarb (baking soda)1/4 tsp salt4 tbsp splenda ( or other sugar substitute)1 tbsp of honey3 tbsp Apple sauce/puree or pie filling2 tbsp/1 oz water1/2 cup milk 1%1 tbsp cinnamon or to taste
Mix together all dry ingredients
Add apple sauce or puree
Add milk and just enough of the water to make a soft dough.
Roll out to 1/2 inch thick and use cutter to cut into 12 rounds.
Place on baking sheet and leave for 20 mins to settle and rise a little. This is essential for a light scone.
Bake in center of oven 180' Celsius.
cool on rack.lovely hot or cold
You can add just about anything to these instead of apple, berries, fruit, nuts.......enjoy
