Dough Base1/4 cup margarine3/4 cup granulated sugar2 eggs, separated1 1/2 cup all purpose flour1 tsp baking powder1/2 cup milk ( I used 1%) 2 cups of plums, pitted and cut in half.Streusal Topping1/2 cup granulated sugar1/2 cup all purpose flour1/2 teaspoon baking powder2 Tbsp buttermilk just to add moisture if need to crumbs.Grease a 9 inch or 2.5 liter cake pan.in a large bowl cream together margarine, sugar and egg yolks until fluffy. Combine flour and baking powder; beat into egg mixture alternately with milk. Beat egg whites until stiff but not dry; fold into batter. Turn into prepared pan. Halve and pit plums and arrange over the top of the dough.In a small bowl, combine sugar, flour, baking powder and rub in the butter to make coarse crumbs or struesel. Add a few drops of milk if needed for extra moisture. Spread thickly over the fruit and back at 350 F for 35 to 45 minutes or until top is golden and toothpick inserted into cake comes out clean.
