Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

3/4 c. butter * +1 tbsp butter( if using cake flour)1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour or cake flour (see *)* +3 tbsp (if using cake flour)1 c. packed light brown sugar1/2 c. granulated sugar1 egg1 tsp. baking powder1 tsp. vanilla1/4 tsp. baking soda1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon1/4 tsp. ground cloves1 tsp. molasses2 c. rolled oats1 c. packed raisins
In a mixing bowl beat butter with electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds. Add about half the flour, brown sugar, sugar, egg, baking powder, vanilla, baking soda, cinnamon, gloves, and molasses. Beat until thoroughly combined. Beat in remaining flour. Stir in Oats. Stir in raisins.
Drop by rounded tablespoons 2 inches apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a 375 oven for 15 - 20 minutes or till edges are golden. Cool cookies on a wire rack. Makes about 30 cookies.
