Armenian Pilaf

2 tablespoons butter1/2 cup raw spaghetti, broken into 1/2 inch pieces3/4 cup white rice2 cups of chicken, beef or vegetable broth2 cloves of garlic pressed or smashedpepper to taste
Melt butter in saucepan over medium high heat.
Saute the spaghetti in the butter for about 3 minutes or until the spaghetti is tinged with color.
Add rice and stir to coat with butter.
Saute the rice and spaghetti until the spaghetti is mostly brown and the rice is white instead of translucent.
Add broth and garlic. You can add salt if desired.
Cover and simmer over low heat for 18 to 20 minutes, stirring a few times.
Stir in pepper as desired.
You can make this into a main dish by added cooked meat or chicken and defrosted peas.
