2 cups of All-Purpose Flour1 1/2 cups of Sugar1 teaspoon of baking powder1 teaspoon of baking soda1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg1/4 teaspoon of cloves1/4 teaspoon of ginger1 cup of buttermilk or sour milk1/4 cup of butter or margarine, softened1/4 cup of shortening1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract3 eggs
In abowl combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and ginger. Add buttermilk or sour milk, margarine or butter, shortening, and vanilla. Beat with an electric mixer on low to medium speed till combined. Beat 2 minutes on high speed. Add eggs and beat 2 minutes more.
Pour batter into a greased 13x9x2-inch baking pan. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 30 - 35 mintes or till a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack.
