Early Autumn Dutch Cake

Ingredients
½ c all purpose flour½ c whole wheat flour½ tsp salt1 tsp baking powder½ tsp baking soda3 tbsp brown sugar2 tbsp butter2 tbsp applesauce1 egg¼ c buttermilk***2 cups peeled sliced cooking apples1 cup sliced plums1 cup sliced, peeled peaches2 tbsp white sugar1 tsp ground cinnamon¼ tsp ground cloves2 tbsp butter, melted.
Directions
Mix all the dry ingredients together in a large bowl.
Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly.
Combine applesauce, egg and buttermilk, add to above.
Mix together but do not beat!
Spread into a greased 9” x 13” pan.
Arrange fruit, overlapping, on top.
Combine sugar, cinnamon and cloves, sprinkle on top.
Pour butter evenly over all this.
Bake at 400F for 35 mins or until fruit is tender.
