Arthur's Italian Anise Cookies

1 Stick of Unsalted Butter1/2 Cup Sugar (I haven't tried this recipe with substitutes)3 Lg. Eggs2 - 3 tsp. Anise4 tsp Baking Powder1/8 tsp. salt3 Cups sifted flour (I haven't tried using flours other than white)
Bake at 350 degrees on ungreased cookie sheet
Cream: margarine and sugar
Add eggs one at a time and beat well. Then add Anise, Baking Powder, salt, and flour. Mix well. Dough should be soft as pie crust. Form dough in small balls about the size of walnuts. (These can be formed into shapes as well, candy canes, trees, bells, etc.). Cool and glaze.
