French Country Stew

1/2 pound Dry Great Northern Beans6 C Water1# Beef Stew meat, cut into 1 inch cubes2 medium carrots, peeled and cut into 1 inch pieces1 Large Onion, cut into wedges6 cloves garlic, minced4 C Chicken Broth1 C Dry White wine3 Bay Leaves1 1/2C tsp dried rosemary, crushed1/2 tsp Salt1/4 tsp Pepper
Rinse and drain beans. In 4 qt Dutch oven combine beans and water. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer 10 minutes. Remove from heat. Cover and let stand for 1hour.
Drain soaked beans; rinse in colander. In a 3 1/2 to 6 Qt slow cooker combine beans, stew meat, and remaining ingredients. Cover, cook on low heat setting for 8 to 10 hours or on high-heat setting for 4 to 5 hours. Remove bay leaves before serving.
