Irish Ground Beef Stew

Ingredients
1 1/2 lbs. ground lean beef6 diced potatoes1 dash Worcestershire sauce1 tbsp Onion powder1 tsp Garlic powder1 tsp Oregano 1/2 tsp Marjoram1/2 tsp Thyme 1/4 tsp bay leafSprinkle of salt
Directions
In large pot brown the ground beef (stir frequently). When fully brown add water, Worcestershire sauce, Onion powder, Garlic powder, Oregano, Marjoram, bay leaf and Thyme . Let simmer 1 hour. Stir in the potatoes and simmer slowly with lid on the pot for an additional hour or so until potatoes soft.

If stew needs thickening, just add 1 cup water that has 1/4 cup flour dissolved and let simmer an additional 20 minutes continue until the desired stew-like consistency. (Usually no more than 2-3 times is needed.)

When desired consistancy is achieved, serve on bread.

Serve a green vegetable with the stew or a salad for a complete meal.

    How much original water is used? I see the thickening says use 1 cup to 1/4 flour, but the original water amount is missing. - 8/9/09
