Mamma Rosa's Maple Custard for 2

Ingredients
1 cup 1% milk2 eggs1 scant tablespoon granulated sugar1 teaspoon vanilla1 tablespoon of maple syrup OR dash of nutmeg
Directions
Preheat oven to 350F. Spray 2C ovenproof dish or 2-1C ramekins with cooking spray. If using maple syrup pour into bottom of dish(es) and tilt until bottom is coated.
Scald milk and remove from heat. Beat eggs together but not to frothy. Add sugar and vanilla. Pour milk into eggs slowly, stirring constantly. Pour mixture into dish(es) and place in water bath in oven. Dust with grated nutmeg. Bake for 35 minutes until top is lightly browned and a knife inserted in the middle comes out clean.

Serve warm or cold.
