Apple and Date Loaf

Ingredients
1 cup pitted dates1/2 cup honey1 tsp bicarbonate of soda1 cup unsweetened apple juice1 cup grated apple (about 2 medium apples)1.5 cups self-raising wholemeal flour
Directions
Place the dates, juice, honey and soda into a large pan. Bring to the boil and simmer two minutes. Cover and allow to cool.

Add remaining ingredients, combine well but do not overmix. Spoon batter into prepared loaf tin and bake at 180 celsius for 40 minutes.

Serving Size: I slice it into 16, but 12 slices makes it about 150kcal.
