Poached Pears

Ingredients
4 Bosc Pears. peeled and halved2 cups apple cider ( or enough to cover pears)1 cinnamon stick4-5 cloves1 star anisepinch of salt
Directions
Put all ingredients in pot with lid and cook until pears are tender. Remove pears and serve. If you have time you can continue cooking the liquid until it reduces to a syrup to use over the pears.
