Hearty Vegetable Beef Barley soup w/dumplings

Ingredients
Beef, tip round, .56 lb(remove)Del Monte Diced Tomatoes, No Salt Added, 1.5 cup(remove)Onions, raw, 1 small(remove)Celery, raw, 1 stalk, medium (7-1/2" - 8" long)(remove)Carrots, raw, 1 medium(remove)*Beef Boullion Wyler's Reduced Sodium (1 cube), 2 serving(remove)Bay Leaf, 1 tsp, crumbled(remove)Garlic, 2 clove(remove)Basil, .66 tbsp(remove)Pepper, black, .25 tsp(remove)Mixed Vegetables, frozen, 1 package (10 oz)(remove)Barley, pearled, raw, .75 cup(remove)*Heart Smart Bisquick (mix only), 1 cup(remove)Yellow Cornmeal, .66 cup(remove)Milk, nonfat, .66 cup(remove)Water, tap, 6 cup (8 fl oz)(remove)
Directions
Cut beef into tiny bite size pieces and brown until no longer pink inside.
Add water, tomatoes,onions, celery, carrots, boullion, bay leaf, garlic, basil and black pepper and bring to boil. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes till veggies are tender. Add mix veggies and barley and dumplings and simmer for 20 minutes longer.

Dumplings:
While tomatoes and stuff are cooking combine bisquick and cornmill with milk and mix. When you add the mixed veggies and barley drop batter mixture on top by a tablespoonful on top of soup. Cover and simmer veggies, barley and batter for 20 minutes without removing the cover. when done serve.
