Black-Eyed Peas with Spiced Butter (1 cup)

Ingredients
Butter, unsalted, 3 tbspOnions, raw, 1 cup, choppedGarlic, 1/4 cupLow sodium chicken broth, 8 cupBlack-eyed peas cooked without salt, 5 cupBay Leaf, 5 leaves
Directions
Soak peas overnight. Saute onions and garlic in butter. Add peas, broth, and bay leaves and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook about 1 1/2 hours, stirring occassionally.
