French Toast for rustic bread

Ingredients
1 large egg1 cup milk2 tsp vanilla extract2 TBSP granulated sugar1 TBSP AP flourunsalted butter5 slices rustic french or artisan bread
Directions
Heat cast iron skillet on medium for about 5 minutes. Meanwhile, adding one at a time, mix first 5 ingredients in shallow container or pie dish. Soak up to 2 pieces bread in mixture for about 30 seconds on each side. Add about 1 TBSP butter to heated cast iron skillet. Add soaked bread to skillet and cook each side until browned, flipping once. Serve immediately. Nutrition info for syrups or other toppings not included.
