Ingredients
*Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 2 tbsp Onions, raw, 1 medium (2-1/2" dia) Tomato Paste, 2 cans (6 oz) *Petite Cut Diced Tomatoes, 3 - 28 oz. cans *Ground Beef 93% Lean, 4 lbs *Italian Sausage, pork, 1.25 lbs Chili powder, 2 tbsp Granulated Sugar, 1 tbsp Basil, dried 2 tbsp Oregano, dried, 2 tbsp Parsley, dried, 2 tbsp Salt, 1 tsp Pepper, black, 1 tsp *Grey Poupon Dijon Mustard, 2 tbsp Red Wine, 4 fl oz Water, tap, 2 cup (8 fl oz) minced garlic, 1 tsp
Directions
Heat olive oil in a very large pot. Add onions and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, approx. 15 min. Add sausage and ground beef; cook over medium heat, stirring, until the meats are well browned. Spoon off excess fat and discard. Stir in tomato paste, garlic, cumin, chili powder, mustard, basil, oregano, salt and pepper. Add the tomatoes, wine, parsley and water. Stir well and simmer, uncovered for about 20-30 minutes. Serve immediately.
