Make-Ahead Steel Cut Oatmeal

Ingredients
1 cup steel cut oats2 cups water1/2 cup skim milk1/2 cup half & half1/4 teaspoon cinnamon1/2 cup chopped nuts (your preference, I use hazelnuts)1/2 cup dried fruits (your preference, I use craisins)
Directions
bring water and dairy to almost boiling. add oats and stir. reduce heat to simmer and cover to cook, stirring occasionally for 10 minutes (al dente) to 20 minutes (creamy).
