Steel Cut Oatmeal w/ Raisins and Cranberries

4 cups water1 cup steel cut oats1/4 cup raisins1/4 cup dried cranberries2-3 Tbsp Maple syrupMilk (optional)
1) Boil water in a saucepan
2) Once water is boiling add oats, raisins and dried cranberries.
3) Simmer uncovered for about 25 minutes (depending on desired consistency), stirring occasionally to keep bottom from burning.
4) Remove from heat and stir in Maple syrup.
Serve or divide into freezer bags and freeze for later.
*To reheat - remove from bag and place in a microwave safe bowl. Heat on high for about 2 1/2 minutes.
*If desired add a little milk when serving.
