split pea soup

Ingredients
2 cups dried split peas8 cups water2 chopped onions2 ribs celery4 chopped carrots4 cloves garlic4 tbls poultry seasoningsalt and pepper to tasteRinse split peasAdd to water, bring to boil add vegetablessimmer until soft and mushyAdd water to meet your desires consistency of thick or thin on a spoonYou can add any vegetable to you like - cauliflower is lovely in this soup (chopped) and so are some chopped tomatoes, spinach or kale leaves. Get creative and enjoy!Many folks crumble bacon on the top, or even cooked ground turkey or beef with fat drained off.
Directions
chop all vegetables into small pieces
add to water and rinsed peas
bring to boil then simmer for 50 + minutes or until peas are mushy
