Homemade Beef Stew

1 - 2 lbs stewing beef1 med onion chopped2 large carrots thickly sliced1/2 a medium rutabaga, diced4 stalks of celery, diced5 potatoes cut into large chuckssalt and pepperbeef boullion
1. Heat oil in a large pot.
2. Start browning beef, toss in onions and add salt and pepper. Stirring often, cook 5 - 10 minutes over med high heat.
3. Cover with water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium.
4. Stir in boullion.
5. Add rutabaga, carrots and celery, simmer 20 minutes until veggies become more tender, but are not completely cooked.
6. Add potatoes and continuing simmering another 20 minutes until all veggies are cooked.
