Steel-cut oats

Ingredients
1c Steel cut oats3 1/2c waterPinch of salt1/2c skim milk1tsp Vanilla ExtractWalnuts, dates, brown sugar or any other toppings.
Directions
Bring water to a boil in a large pot. Add the steel cut oats and salt, stir. Reduce heat to medium low and cook for 30 minutes. Make sure you stir the oats occasionally in order to keep from sticking. When the oats start to thicken, at about 30 minutes, add in the milk and vanilla. Cook for 10 more minutes.

Serve hot with toppings.
