German Red Cabbage

Ingredients
1 head red cabbage - chopped or sliced1 jar unsweetened apple sauce1 c. sugar1/2 c. white vinegar (or 1 c. cider vinegar)2 T. Crisco1 c. water
Directions
Add ingredients together, bring to a boil and simmer for 3 hours or until cabbage is tender. It is always best when it is made the day before you want to serve it.

Serving Size: makes a large kettle full - 12 or so servings
