All Purpose FlourBaking PowderBaking SodaSaltRaisins (or raisins and cranberries mixed)MargarineSugarButtermilk (Powdered used in this recipe - can use fresh)EggCaraway Seeds (optional)Lemon Flavoring (optional)Sugar crystals sprinkled on top prior to baking (optional)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease or spray 8 or 9" round baking pan.
1. Measure all dry ingredients into a bowl.
2. Slice margarine and put into the dry mixture.
3. Cut margarine into dry mixture with pastry cutter or two knives used in scissor fashion.
4. Add Raisins (and caraway seeds, if desired)
5. Add egg and buttermilk (if powdered milk is used, add with dry ingredients and then add water with the egg and lemon flavoring, if desires)
6. Mix well until just blended.
7. Pour mixture into pan and sprinkle with sugar crystals, if desired.
Serving Size: 15 - 18 Slices
