Broiled tomatoes

Ingredients
2 medium roma tomatoes1 tbsp olive oil1 tsp garlic (or more if you like)Italian seasoning to taste (McCormick's dried herb mix contains marjoram, thyme, rosemary, savory, sage, oregano and basil. Any blend of some or all of those herbs or Herbs de Provence would also work well)Black pepper to taste (fresh ground is best)Optional: 1 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese. Not included in calories- adds 23 calories and 1.5g fat
Directions
Pre-heat your broiler (high setting, if there's a choice).
Slice each tomato in half and place on a baking sheet. Brush or drizzle olive oil over each tomato half. Sprinkle with garlic and seasonings. Broil for 10 minutes, or until tomato is softened and edges are browned. If using Parmesan cheese, remove tomatoes after five minutes, top with cheese, return to broiler for remaining five minutes.
