HEARTY LENTIL BEEF SOUP

Ingredients
Beef, Stew Meat, 10 oz Lentils, 1.5 cup Carrots, raw, 1 cup, strips or slices Vegetable Broth, 1 cup Mushrooms, fresh, 1 cup, pieces or slices Cabbage, fresh, 1 cup, Celery, raw, .5 cup, diced Scallions, raw, .5 cup, chopped Garlic, 1 clove1.5 quarts of water3/4 tsp Celtic 1/8 tsp pepper
Directions
Broil beef on broiling pan rack, turning once, until rare and browned (about 5 minutes each side). Transfer beef to 4 qt saucepan. Add remaining ingredients & bring to boil. Reduce heat to low. Cover pan; let simmer, stirring occasionally, until meat & vegetables are tender (40-50 minutes).
