Ingredients
Directions
1 Brown and Serve sandwich roll, split1 sliced onion (red or yellow)1 tsp ketchup1 tsp mustard1 slice of American Cheese 1/2 to 1 slice of genoa salami (comes pre-sliced)margarine to taste for coating top of bun Tooth pick (for holding buns together while cooking)
All ingredients were intentionally listed to show the nutritional value of one sandwich and so it could be made in any number desired without complex calculations.
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Split open any brown and serve rolls. Lay out on cookie sheet (on foil for ease of clean-up).
Begin by adding condiments (ketchup, mustard and relish) to tops or bottoms but not both. I spread it out putting ketchup on one and mustard on the other then put the relish on the bottoms.
Next add a slice of salami (or half a slice to watch fat and/or calories). Top with one slice of cheese and onion (to taste). I use a thin slice of red onion and do not find it too strong once cooked.
Mate tops and bottoms of bun(s), stick a tooth pick through sandwich from the top (for holding buns together while cooking). Don't forget to remove the tooth pick before serving or eating.
Very lightly coat top of bun(s) with butter or margarine to keep from getting too hard or over brown.
Place buns (that are on cookie sheet) into oven and bake at 350 for 10-15 minutes. Just long enough to start to melt cheese and brown tops of buns.
Serving Size: One serving, but recipe multiplies easily
Number of Servings: 1
