Ingredients
Directions
1 lb. pork sausage1/2 cup pancake syrup1 tsp. ground ginger1 tsp. ground nutmeg1 tsp. ground cinnamon4 oz neufatchel cheese1 cup shredded cheddar cheese3 tbsp. butter3 tbsp. unpacked brown sugar1 package Kroger traditional pizza mix1 tbsp. vegetable oil 1/2 cup water
Mix pork sausage, pancake syrup (or maple if you have it), 1 tsp cinnamon, and nutmeg and ginger together. Brown and crumble sausage mixture in skillet over medium heat. Once cooked set aside.
Prepare pizza dough as directed on package. Let dough sit for several minutes before rolling it out. Meanwhile, in a microwave safe dish soften cream cheese. Place dough on a pizza stone or cookie sheet. Lightly sprinkle dough and rolling pin with flour to reduce sticking then roll the dough out in a circle until it is 8-10 inches in diameter.
Spread softened cream cheese over top of dough, then layer with the cheddar cheese and sausage mixture. Roll up the edges of the crust and carefully fold them into the center to form a round cake. Place a plate or cookie sheet on top of the cake and slowly and carefully transfer the cake from the pizza stone to the plate. Place the pizza stone on top of the plate and transfer the cake back to the pizza stone. I did this so that the rolled up edges would not show.
Preheat your oven to 425 degrees. Place pizza stone on the lowest rack of your oven and bake for approximately 10 minutes. While the cake is baking soften the butter in the microwave. Remove butter from microwave and whisk in brown sugar. When cake has finished baking remove from oven and spread butter mixture over top of cake. Sprinkle cake with remaining cinnamon. Place cake back in oven for 5-7 more minutes.
Slice cake vertically down the middle and then slice horizontally 5 times to form 12 slices of similar thickness.
Best when served warm! Enjoy!
