* 1 18-oz. package yellow cake mix * 1/4 cup canola oil * 2 eggs * 2 T. water * 1 cup smooth or crunchy peanut butter * 1 cup diced peanuts, raisins, or chocolate chips (optional)
1. Combine cake mix, oil, eggs and water and mix until well blended. Add peanut butter and stir well. Add optional ingredients now, if preferred.
2. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets and criss roll each cookie with a fork dipped in sugar.
3. Bake at 350 F for 12 to 14 minutes. Makes about 30.

These were really good. Not quite as greasy as the originals, but that's a good thing, isn't it? Very easy to make too. I made the dough into balls, rolled them in a litlte sugar and used a fork to make the like traditional peanut butter cookies and they fooled the whole family. - 10/15/08
