M's Split and Ham Soup

2.5 cups of dried split peas1 Box of Swanson unsalted beef broth (3 cups)1 lb of Virginia cured ham1 large onion finely chopped6 cloves of garlic finely chopped1 tbsp of basil1 tbsp of marjoram2 oz of red wine
Simply put it all into a crock pot (slow cooker) and cook at med to high for 3 hours until the peas basically dissolve. Then turn to low and allow to simmer until ready to eat.
