Rouladen, Hardt Recipe

Ingredients
3 lbs Flank steaks, sliced thin, cut into 3 - 4 inch strips12 slices, partially cooked turkey bacon1 onion, sliced or dicedsaltpeppergarlic powdertoothpicks3 T canola oil1/4 C flour1 can reduced sodium chicken or beef stock6 oz dry red wine
Directions
Season (salt, pepper and garlic powder) both sides of each flank steak strip, then top with 0.5 - 1 slice of bacon, and some sliced onion. Roll up each strip and secure with a toothpick. In a large skillet, brown the roulades in the 3 T of canola oil. When browned, carefully remove the toothpicks and place the roulades in a crockpot. Add the flour to the skillet to make a roux, then add the stock, wine and additional seasonings as needed. Stir and thicken into a slightly thin gravy. Add the gravy to the crockpot. Cook on low for the rest of the day. Add water as needed during cooking.
