Hearty Turkey Chili

Ingredients
1 tablespoon olive oil 1 large onion, chopped1 green pepper, chopped4 cloves garlic, minced (or to taste)1 pound ground turkey breast (or buffalo)2 cans white beans (or beans of choice), drained and rinsed1 can diced tomatoes1 can no-salt-added tomatoes2 tablespoons chili powder2 teaspoons dried marjoram1/2 teaspoon salt (can be omitted)
Directions
Heat olive oil in extra large skillet or dutch oven. Add onions, peppers and garlic and cook until translucent. Add turkey and cook until browned. Add rest of ingredients, cover and cook on medium-low heat for 45 minutes.
(If making recipe in slow cooker, add all ingredients and cook on low for 8 hours.)

Makes 6 servings.

    Pretty good recipe. We like ours a little thicker, so I might add some tomato paste next time to try to thicken up the sauce a little. Could also use a little more seasoning. Overall, however, pretty tasty. - 2/9/11
