Cat's homemade mexican cornbread

Ingredients
Double recipe:2 cups corn meal2 cups unbleached white wheat flour1 tsp salt8 tsp baking powder1 tsp chili powder4 - 8 TB natural sugar, granulated2 cups milk, 1%2 extra large eggs1/2 cup vegetable oil1 cup canned yellow corn1/3 cup chopped fresh hatch peppers (or peppers of choice)4 oz shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Directions
Combine dry ingredients. Stir in wet ingredients until just combined. Bake 23-25 minutes at 425 degrees until toothpick comes out clean.
