Parmesan Green Beans

Ingredients
4 cups fresh green beans1/2 cup fresh sliced mushrooms2 tablespoons chopped onion (optional)1 garlic clove minced2 tablespoons olive oil1/3 cup water chestnuts1/4 teaspoon salt1/8 teaspoon pepper2 tablespoons shredded Parmesan cheese
Directions
Place beans in a saucepan and cover with water, bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer until crisp-tender. Meanwhile, in a skillet, saute mushrooms, onion and garlic in oil until tender. Stir in water chestnuts (drain first) and seasonions, heat through. Drain beans and add to skillet. Srpinkle with parmesan cheese. Serve immediately. Serves 6
