Introduction

Forget fancy spices--four ingredients are all you need to make this deliciously simple supper. Forget fancy spices--four ingredients are all you need to make this deliciously simple supper.
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

1/4 cup pure maple syrup (NOT pancake syrup!) or honey
    1/4 cup soy sauce
    2-3 cloves minced garlic
12 ounces fresh or thawed salmon

Tips

I usually go for the more complicated recipes, assuming that the more ingredients and preparation steps, the better. Not after trying this recipe!

Directions

Combine the first 3 ingredients in a gallon-size ziploc bag, shake it up, and then add the salmon. Allow to marinate in the refrigerator for an hour, turning after half an hour. Pour the salmon and the marinade into a baking dish and bake in a 350 degree oven, covered with foil, for 15 minutes. The salmon is done when it flakes easily at the thickest part. Enjoy! Makes (4) 3 ounce servings.

I had to come back and rate this 5 stars. The recipe was sooo easy and my husband loved it. Thanks again for such a fabulous recipe! Oh, and I added some red pepper flakes for a little kick! - 10/6/09

Had this tonight and it was delicious! I used low-sodium soy sauce, wrapped the fish in a sealed foil packet, and used the juice on reheated, leftover brown rice. Fabulous with fresh broccoli. Thanks for sharing this! - 12/28/10

I used honey instead of maple syrup and low sodium soy. This turned out very good, super easy and I will definately be making this again. - 2/12/09

Absolutely Delish! We fixed it with the Maple Syrup and as written. It reminds me of the Bourbon Chicken you get at the malls. I'm going to try it with Chicken and see how it turns out. I've been sarching for a recipe that would mimick the Bourbon Chicken at the mall...this might do it! - 8/13/10

Good recipe. The only issue I had was that prep time showe five minutes and is supposed to marinate one hour. If you didn't read directions first would leave you pressed for time on weeknight. - 3/18/12
