Thick hearty lentil tomato and rice soup

2 cups beef broth2 cups tomato sauce2 cups lentils (either cooked from dry or canned)1 tbsp canola oil2 cups chopped onion1 cup chopped carrot1.5 cups cooked brown rice2 tsp Worcestershire sauce (more or less to taste)2 tsp garlic powder2 tsp roasted pepper seasoning (or your choice)dash of red pepper flakessalt and pepper to taste
Either saute onion and carrot in canola oil until soft or roast vegetables after tossing in oil. Combine broth, tomato sauce, lentils, vegetables, seasonings (including Worcestershire sauce) and heat through. Put half (or all if you like a smoother soup) of this mixture into a blender or use an immersion blender. Add rice and heat through.
