2 lbs extra lean ground beef2 16 oz cans kidney beans (or one kidney, one pinto), rinsed and drained2 14 1/2 oz cans diced tomatoes, undrained8 oz can tomato sauce1 medium onion, chopped1 green bell pepper, chopped2 garlic cloves, minced2 Tbs chili powder2 tsp salt, optional1 tsp black pepper
Brown onions in pan, place in slow cooker.
Brown the ground beef in the same pan, place in slow cooker.
Add all the rest of the ingredients to the slow cooker.
Cover, cook on high 4 hours or low 8-10 hours.
Serving Size: makes 10 servings
