Ingredients
3 T. canola oil3 c. chopped onions3 c. chopped mushrooms2 2/3 c. water (can use 2/3 c. white wine, opt)1 1/2 t. thyme1/2 t. sage3 T. soy sauceblack pepper to taste1 c. kasha (buckwheat groats)3-4 T. flour (can use white, wheat, or I use soy or chickpea flour also)
Directions
Saute onions until clear. Add mushrooms and cook another 2 minutes. Add remaining ingredients except the flour. Bring to a boil and cover. Cook for about 10 minutes until nearly all the water is absorbed. Pour into a bowl and cool. Add the flour. (you may need a bit more flour to make a pattie depending on how much water you cooked out). Make into burgers. I use a small cookie scoop. Fry in small amount of oil or can be baked. If baking spray with Pam.
