Cider Baked Beans

Ingredients
2 cup dried beans1 onion, finely chopped3 stalks Celery, thinly sliced 2 carrots, peeled and slivedGarlic, 1 clove mincedTurnips, 2 cup, cubedChili powder, 2 tspSalt, 1 tspPepper, black, 1 tsp 1 cinnamon stickApple juice, unsweetened, 1 cup Water, tap, 1 cup (8 fl oz) Maple Syrup, 0.5 cup 2 tbsp cornstarch
Directions
1. Soak beans overnight in 6 cups of water.

2. In morning drain beans and place in slowcooker.

3. Place all remaining ingredients in slow cooker, except cornstarch.

4. Cover and cook on low for 10 to 12 hours or on High for 5 to 6 hours, until beans are tender.

5. Remove cinnamon stick.

6. In a bowl, combine cornstarch with 2 tbsp hot cooking liquid from beans and stir until smooth. Gradually add up to 1/4 cup hot bean liquid, stirring until mixture is smooth. Return mixture to stoneware and stir well until sauce thickens.
