Cheap and Healthy Hamburger Soup

Ingredients
Ground Beef BarleyCarrots OnionCelerySpinach
Directions
Brown hamburger, rinse and set aside.
Add one tablespoon Olive Oil to a large soup pot and set over medium high heat.
Add finely diced carrots, onions, and celery to pot with salt. This becomes base for soup. When vegetables are soft and translucent add water, barley, reserved ground beef, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes. Bring to a boil, and reduce heat to medium low. Add whole baby carrots. and simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until carrots and barley are tender. Add Spinach, and continue to simmer until leaves are wilted, about 5 minutes. Makes 12 servings.
