Coat a large sauge pan with cooking spray; heat over medium high heat.
Addd onion to skillet; cook 5 minutes,stirring occasionally. Add garlic; cook 2 minutes. Add tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, oregano, sugar, and if desired, salt and red pepper flakes; bring to simmer. Simmer uncovered 25 to 35 minutes or until sauce is desired consistency.
Meanwhile cook turkey in a large skillet until no longer pink, breaking into chunks with a wooden spoon. Stir turkey into sauce; heat through. Serve with spaghetti and sprinkle wiht cheese.
