Savory Beef Stew

Ingredients
2 lbs stewing beef, in bite-sized cubes1 lb carrots, peeled and coarsely chopped2 parsnips, peeled and coarsely chopped1 large onion, chopped2 garlic cloves, minced2 cups tomato sauce1-10oz can condensed beef broth1 Tbsp Dijon mustard2 tsp ground savory0.5 tsp salt1 tsp black pepper1 bay leaf1 Tbsp dried parsley1 Tbsp corn starch
Directions
Place all ingredients in order listed into a 3 qt slow cooker, except for parsley and corn starch. Cook, covered, on low setting for 9 hours.
Mix corn starch with an equal amount of warm water until smooth. Add corn starch mixture and dried parsley to slow cooker and stir well. Cook for another hour on low, then serve.
Recommend serving with a crusty roll, or a side salad.
