Mielie Pap (Corn Flour Porridge from South Africa)

Ingredients
- 1 cup Corn Flour- 3 cups hot water; 1 cup cold water- 1/2 teaspoon salt- 4 cups milk- 8 teaspoons sugar
Directions
Combine corn flour, hot and cold water and salt together in a large microwave-safe bowl (or in a pot for a stove-top version).

Microwave on HIGH for 2 minutes at a time, stirring between each time, for about 5 cooking times total. (For stove top version, just continue stirring until cooked). The porridge should thicken, but not dry out.

Once cooked, add the milk and sugar, stir till well blended in (and the porridge becomes smoother again), and serve warm.

Serving Size: Makes 4 large bowls of porridge.
