1 can chick peas1 large red bell pepper1 tbsp minced garlic1 tbsp lemon juice1 tbsp tapatio hot sauce (or any kind you like)1/2 tbsp crushed red pepper flakesSalt and pepper to taste
Clean the red pepper. Cut it up into about 4 sections & discard the seeds and them. Rub with extra virgin olive oil. Lightly salt and pepper it. Place on a baking sheet lined with tin foil, inside of peppers facing down. Place your top rack of the oven on the highest setting closest to the broiler. Broil the peppers till the skin begin to blacken. You may have to rotate to ensure even cooking. Broil about 20 mins. After they are done, set them in a ziplock bag (or bowl covered with plastic wrap) until cool enough to handle. Remove the blackened skin. Place into a blender with the remaining ingredients & blend until you reach desired consistency.
