Spicy California Clam Chowder

2 cans chopped or minced clams with juice2 medium red potatoes cubed3 stalks celery with leaves chopped1 yellow onion chopped1 large can diced tomatoes1 can Rotel tomatoes with green chilies1 jalapeņo pepper seeded, cored and diced1 slice think bacon - cut into 1/4 in strips2 slices turkey bacon - cut into 1/4 inch strips chopped green onion for garnish
chop thick bacon and render the fat reserve enough to lightly coat the bottom of a nonstick pan
quickly fry onion and potato in bacon fat until lightly golden drain and put in crock pot
fry turkey bacon until crisp
added all ingredients except green onion
set on low cook for 3-5 hours
add green onion slices just before serving
